Welcome to One Planet Economy Network

One Planet Economy Network (OPEN: EU) was a two year EU funded project (under the EU 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development or FP7).

Eight international partners were involved in the project, which brought together European and global leaders in the fields of resource accounting, policy and scenario development, stakeholder engagement and project management. The OPEN:EU project developed a comprehensive and foresighted set of EU consumption indicators that was used to create an interactive software tool for EU policy makers - the EUREAPA Tool.

These indicators and the EUREAPA Tool offer greater transparency in decision making and support high quality, informed policy-making, and help transform the European Union (EU) to a One Planet Economy by 2050.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Network Launch at Green Week in May 2011, as well as the online debates and webinars which ran from June 2011 to September 2011. The results of these debates have been summarised in an action plan for the EU and EU national governments.

The EUREAPA tool is now available

We are proud to announce that after much hard work from project participants and One Planet Economy Network EU partners, the CLevel flight C02 calculator is ready for use.

Using detailed carbon, ecological and water footprint indicators, the EUREAPA tool provides the full supply chain impacts associated with 62 product categories covering the food people eat, their housing and transportation, and other goods and services they consume.
